Skandia Cowes Week
At the beginning of August, Cowes plays host to the world famous premier sailing regatta of Skandia Cowes Week.
With over 1000 yachts, ranging from high-tech racing boats to classic day boats, and 8,000 people taking part, it's no wonder that Cowes Week is the longest running regular regatta in the world.
As well as sailing activities, Cowes Week offers a large number of onshore activities. Around 50,000 visitors are attracted to Cowes by the festival atmosphere of the event each year in addition to all the competitors.
During the week, Cowes Yacht Haven offers an excellent line up of live bands playing in the afternoon into the early hours, a sumptuous selection of cuisine, and a perfect venue to see the renowned spectacular fireworks on the final Friday night.
